Day 1 – Foundations & Workflow (Ableton + MPC Basics) Morning (10:00–13:00) Introduction to Jungle history & sound aesthetics Overview of Ableton & Akai MPC workflow Setting up a Jungle template (tempo, sample library, drum racks) Finding, loading, and chopping classic breaks (Amen, Think, Apache) Hands-on: chopping and sequencing breaks on the MPC & in Ableton Afternoon (14:00–17:00) Layering kicks, snares, percussion for Jungle swing Programming MPC swing/groove templates Using Ableton for timestretching, warp modes, and resampling techniques Student builds first 16-bar Jungle loop (drums + basic bassline) Q&A / troubleshooting session Day 2 – Production & Track Creation Morning (10:00–13:00) Designing Jungle bass (Reese, sub-bass, 808s) in Ableton & MPC workflow Adding pads, FX, and atmospheres for 90s vibe Arrangement techniques for Jungle (drops, edits, fills, breakdowns) Classic Jungle mixing techniques (EQ’ing breaks, layering samples, gain staging) Afternoon (14:00–17:00) Student builds a full track structure (intro, drop, breakdown, outro) Creative FX: filters, delays, pitch tricks, tape-style processing Bounce + Export workflow (pre-master mixdown) Wrap-up: resources, sample packs, practice routines Final listening session with feedback
